In June, Calderwood Secondary Leader of Teacher Innovation and Learning, Mr Ross Graham, presented a workshop at the Project Zero Australia Network Conference at Brisbane Girls Grammar School.
Ross's presentation was a personal invitation from
Simon Brooks
, as part of the '
Cultures of Thinking
' professional development work he has been conducting at Calderwood.
The workshop explored practical ways to help students become more confident, independent thinkers who can tackle challenges, make decisions, and take greater ownership of their learning.
Of this experience, Ross said:
"Cultures of Thinking has been the most influential professional learning that I have participated in during my career and has transformed so many of my classroom practices.
Therefore, to be invited to lead others and share what I have been thinking about and practising with my classes is an enormous privilege.
It brought me great joy to work alongside the educators who attended my workshop and introduce teachers from across Australia to our wonderful school and the work we are doing.
I wish to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to my Senior Executive Team colleagues who have encouraged and supported me in this endeavour."
Simon Brooks has worked with our staff at Calderwood since the beginning of 2025, when staff commenced their Cultures of Thinking journey. Of Mr Graham and the Calderwood staff, Simon said:
