It was an exciting beginning to the term as the Paris 2024 Olympics took place! Even though the Olympics were happening far away from us here at Calderwood, that didn't stop "Olympic Fever" from taking hold!
Read on below to hear how our students celebrated this leap-yearly phenomenon!
Catching up on the Olympic action at lunchtimes
While the Paris 2024 time zone wasn't as friendly to us here in Australia, that didn't stop our students and teachers from keeping up with the Olympic action!
Each day during the Olympics, Junior School and Secondary students gathered in the Studio and the Learning Hub at lunchtime with the opportunity to watch some of the highlights of the previous day of action.
We’re sure our students were very excited to be able to keep up with all the latest from Paris!

Stage 2 holds its own 'Potato Olympics'
Stage 2 students celebrated the Olympic season in their own unique way, holding their own 'Potato Olympics' at the beginning of the term.
Students created their own Athletes out of potatoes, gave them a name and country, and participated in various Olympic events, with plenty of throwing activities involved!
Olympic Fever Day
Could there be a better way to celebrate the Olympics coming to a close than wearing your best green and gold accessories to school?
To celebrate their "Olympic Fever", students in Prep and Junior School participated in several exciting activities throughout the day, including a find-the-mascot challenge, and a special Olympic-themed assembly run by S3D!
