Last week around Australia was the National Week of Action against Bullying and Violence, represented by the slogan "Bullying No Way".
Our Junior and Secondary School leaders initiated some fantastic ways to reflect on this week of action! Read about them below.
Our Secondary captains visited all the Year 7-12 classes to encourage each student to write something nice about another person on a post-it note (Known as warm and fuzzies).
Captains collected the notes on Friday and placed them on the board forming the phrase "Bullying No Way" in preparation for Monday's assembly, where students received their notes from the board!
Thinking the best of another person and encouraging them with kind words are just two ways we can curb bullying and help others feel a sense of belonging.
Stage 3 student Oliver was joined by Junior School's puppet friend, Poppy, during the Junior School United Service, giving a presentation on bullying and reminding students of what the Bible teaches us about honouring and being kind to one another.
What a great series of initiatives by our school leaders!
We’re a growing school for a new and growing community.
We run regular tours and open days for parents and students to have a taste of life at Calderwood. We’d love to welcome you to one of them soon!
