While this year's Book Week was officially celebrated during Week 5 of our school term, that didn't stop the exciting festivities from taking place across the whole term!
Read on below for a recap of how we celebrated with this year's Book Week theme, 'Reading is Magical'.
Calderwood students and staff participated in 'The Great Book Swap', a program supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF).
All who participated brought a book to school to contribute to the swap, along with a gold coin donation to send to the ILF as part of the Great Book Swap program.
Students and staff found themselves a new book to read from the donations made by their peers and colleagues, with the Great Book Swap campaign raising $625 for the ILF!
The funds raised through The Great Book Swap will contribute to providing books and literacy resources to remote Indigenous communities around Australia. Thank you to everyone who donated!
Junior School students were treated to an exciting presentation in Week 6, attending a live performance from Perform Education titled 'Maybe a Miracle'.
Our students heard that books create a wonderful, imaginative world – reinforcing that like this year's Book Week theme, reading is truly magical!
The showpiece event of every Book Week, the Book Week Dress-Up Day delivered again in 2024!
Take a look below for a gallery of some of the best costumes from this year's Dress-Up Day!
We’re a growing school for a new and growing community.
We run regular tours and open days for parents and students to have a taste of life at Calderwood. We’d love to welcome you to one of them soon!
