Senior Agriculture students attended a hands-on farm visit organised by the Australian Agricultural Center in Crookwell on Thursday, June 8th.
Despite the frigid weather, the students were able to watch a sheep carcass turned into many different cuts of meat by a butcher with 30 years' experience.
The students also had the opportunity to handle live sheep and watch as a vet dissect a sheep and explain the function of the digestive, respiratory and reproductive organs.
It was a highly informative and relevant excursion that exposed the students to experiences they were not able to have at school.
We’re a growing school for a new and growing community.
We run regular tours and open days for parents and students to have a taste of life at Calderwood. We’d love to welcome you to one of them soon!
