At the end of May our Year 11 and 12 students, along with staff, had the opportunity to go away together on a Study and Community Building Camp. The aim of the camp was to equip students with skills that will assist them in their final years of school, as well as to continue building a supportive community within their senior years.
Mr Nicholls shared a couple of talks from Genesis 38. The students spent time wrestling with some of the passages and considered the idea of taking responsibility.
Miss Roberts took our students through some study skills and the students had the opportunity to give them a try. The students also reflected on their current study habits and considered their goals for the future.
The feedback from the students following the camp was overwhelmingly positive. Some of the highlights from the camp included the laser tag and abseiling, playing 9 square, digging into the Bible together, the night bushwalk, the campfire, gaining some study skills, and simply enjoying spending time together.
We’re a growing school for a new and growing community.
We run regular tours and open days for parents and students to have a taste of life at Calderwood. We’d love to welcome you to one of them soon!
